President Ronald Reagan said, “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” This is one of the ideals that we want to instill in our Cabrini Kids. Several of our Kids who are in Grades 3-6, came to Cabrini Immigrant Services (CIS), in Dobbs Ferry, NY to work on a Giving Back Program.
Thanks to a grant from St. Faith’s House Foundation, we were able to help some of the clients from Westhab, Inc. which is located in Yonkers, NY. Westhab has two transitional programs for single adult men. One program is for homeless men and the other is for those who are returning home from incarceration.
Our students filled bags with items such as soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. They also made a special cards that encouraged the men to be strong and to always try their best. The children said that they felt wonderful knowing that they were helping so many people.
