Two Years on Mission... The Life-Changing Commitment
After two years at Mother Cabrini High School, I cherish the time shared in relationship with the students; sharing in the lives of these "Ladies of the Lord" has been an experience of joy, challenge, growth, inspiration, laughter, and authenticity. In August, I will begin my Masters in Theology and Certification in Lay Ministry at Villanova University in Philadelphia! (Go Wildcats!) I am so excited to also be assisting in the Office for Mission and Ministry at the University. I would like to thank Mary & Crystal, Gina, the MSCs (especially Columbus Community!), friends/family, and Mother Cabrini for their prayers and support during the past months while discerning graduate school and now as I continue to lead a discerning life. My time with the Cabrini Mission Corps has been a time of tremendous emotional and spiritual growth and a calling forth of my true self. As I continue to discover who I am in God, I hope that I may always carry the challenge of disponibilita' in these next steps.
Peace, Michelle

Overwhelmed by the Gift and Value of Relationship
Ten months have passed, and looking back, the simplest thing to do is say, “Thank you!” The experience of this time signifies leaps and bounds of personal and communal growth that I hope have nurtured me to become a more open, energized, and empowered bearer of the love of Christ. Though there have been many challenges in all areas of prayer, community and ministry, I am confident, as this time comes to a close, that it was not only worth it, but necessary! It’s amazing, when you give God trust, just how many wonders He works.
Most importantly, I have been overwhelmed by the gift and value of relationship. Living in community with both the sisters, as well as our smaller CMC community, has brought an abundance of graces. Moving forward, I will be leaving for the summer to visit Ecuador, where I studied abroad in 2007; the Dominican Republic, where I have served and visited; and stopping home in Milwaukee for a little while. The plan, as of now, is for me to return in the fall to work with Gina and the Mission Corps and with the Provincial Office from September to December, while continuing to discern entering religious life. I am very excited for all that lies ahead, and am especially grateful for the ways that this mission year has prepared me to continue my journey with Christ! Thank you!

We meet again! Wow – can’t believe my first year with the Cabrini Mission Corps has come to a close! Serving at Mother Cabrini High School in Washington Heights, NY as a Teacher/Campus Minister this year has been one of the most exciting and sometimes challenging, times in my life. I had the incredible blessing to be surrounded by such talented and warm-spirited students; discovered my ability to teach and had the opportunity to teach Health; I was able to spend time in Campus Ministry with Michelle, listen to individual life stories, and most of all, cry and LAUGH with the girls!
I am very excited, as my joy that I found in spending time with the students at MCHS will carry me into my upcoming mission placement with Cabrini Mission Corps as a missioner in Baguio City, Philippines. There, I will be serving at SOSCFI through their educational assistance program – teaching; the social service program - working with the agency social worker; and volunteering with programs geared towards out-of-school youth. As a missioner who will be joining an international mission, I am eager, yet patient to meet new people, and I am looking forward to exploring God’s abundant graces in all that is waiting for me. Thank you for journeying with me!
