A new portrait of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini was unveiled at Cabrini Health on March 23 by the Provincial of the Stella Maris Province, Sr. Pietrina Raccuglia, MSC.

Sr Pietrina was accompanied by Sr. Diane Olmstead, MSC, who is also visiting us here at Cabrini at the present time.

The portrait, painted by renowned Australian artist Lee Machelak depicts a young and enthusiastic Frances Xavier Cabrini. The portrait will hang in the foyer of Cabrini Hospital, Malvern.

After a brief introduction from Professor Peter Phelan, Chairman of the Cabrini Governing Board, Pastoral Services Manager Mary Rowe led a short ceremony which included a reading by Sr. Sharon Casey MSC and the prayers of the faithful read by several Board Members Sr. Pietrina dedicated the portrait, sprinkling it with holy water.

Staff working at our various campuses were treated to afternoon tea after the unveiling.

May all of us who work here at Cabrini Health continue to be inspired by the example of St Frances Xavier Cabrini, especially in the service of those who are entrusted to our care
