A group of friends, volunteers, mass attendees, Missionary Sisters and staff gather after the 7:30 a.m. Mass on the first Sunday of the month at Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden, Colorado for coffee and conversation. This group is very supportive of the mission of the Shrine and is always willing to lend their time and talents for whatever projects or activities are happening at the Shrine.
Last month, this group of individuals took their outreach and giving to a new level and started the Cabrini Community Cares Food Drive for underprivileged families in the Denver area. What started as an idea from volunteers Evelyn and Mariam Gordon became a reality after 1,100
pounds of food was collected and delivered.
Annunciation Catholic School and Sacred Heart Parish, two of Denver’s poorest communities received the food. The food drive will continue through the Christmas season.
