On November 24th, Cabrini Health hosted a special Donor Appreciation dinner at the Terrace Café` at Cabrini, Malvern.
Associate Professor Peter Lowthian, Executive Director of the Cabrini Institute welcomed our guests and did a magnificent job as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Sr Sharon Casey MSC said grace before the beautiful meal, which was meticulously prepared by our catering staff.
Cabrini Health Chief Executive, Dr Michael Walsh gave a report to our donors about the future direction of Cabrini Health and plans to further develop our health care network into the future through our strategic plan. He also touched on our various social outreach programs and the work of the Missionary Sisters in serving the community.
The Chairman of the Governing Board, Professor Peter Phelan thanked our donors for their generous support. The Chairman paid special tribute to the outstanding contribution of Mr John McMurrick and Mr Des Jackson who are standing down from the Foundation Committee. The Chairman thanked them for their tireless efforts in building relationships and fundraising income for Cabrini over the past three years.
Professor Phelan presented “the boys” as they are affectionately known, with special Certificates of Appreciation.
Our keynote speaker was Geoff “Coxy” Cox who has become an outstanding Ambassador for Cabrini in particular his support for Let’s Beat Bowel Cancer.
He spoke of his own battle with bowel cancer and highlighted his appreciation to all the staff at Cabrini and his doctor, Emeritus Professor Adrian Polglase.
We gratefully thank our donors, particularly at a time of financial uncertainty. Monies raised from our donors have allowed us to purchase equipment, undertake research, provide scholarships and assist with the education of our next generation of doctors and nurses.
We thank all those who made the evening such as success in particular Libby Crosthwaite, Ina Priede and the Foundation staff and Noeleen Xerri and the staff from the Terrace Café.
