On Friday 20th November, Cabrini Health held a Recognition ceremony in the Chapel at Cabrini Malvern to acknowledge the valuable contribution our staff make to our organisation.
This year 377 staff members who have been with us for 5 years or longer were eligible to be presented with service recognition pins, with some 237 present at the ceremony. Our longest serving staff member this year was Carmel Webster of Bookings & Allocations who has been an integral part of the Cabrini family now for 35 years.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman Cabrini Health Governing Board, Professor Peter Phelan, Chief Executive, Dr Michael Walsh, Executive Director of Nursing, Associate Professor, Sue O’Neill, Executive Director– Mission Integration, Ms Cath Garner and Executive Director – Human Resources, Ms Kris Botha,
Sr Sharon Casey MSC and the various managers of our health care service.
The occasion was also an opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution of our Partners in Mission. We acknowledge those staff members who have been Partners in Mission who have understood what it means to work at Cabrini and live out our values of competent compassionate care.
This year we changed the name of the awards from Staff Excellence Awards to Partners in Mission Awards for Staff Excellence to reflect our understanding of our role and responsibilities at Cabrini. Those who received the awards were nominated by their peers and judged to be leaders and role models for the mission and values. They have observed strong culture and commitment to mission and values in last 12 months. Some 38 individuals and 18 teams were nominated, with some receiving more than one nomination. All in all, 14 awards were conferred, 11 individual and 3 team awards.
