After dealing with typhoons and concerns for the people of Baguio-Benguet, this week we have cause to celebrate! The new stained glass window of St. Cabrini is being installed in the last available spot in our Cathedral in Baguio.
A project that began a few years ago, honoring saints in the various religious communities who live and serve in this area, is coming to completion just as we begin the novena to our foundress and patroness. This is no small feat considering the weather calamities these past months and the many detours, collapsed bridges and partially blocked highways due to mud slides. The window was designed and constructed in Manila and has been delivered here in time for the St. Cabrini Feast Day.
Sisters Patricia Spillane, Maria Aparecida Correa de Castro and Teresinha Lumbieri will join us for the special program on November 14th when Bishop Carlito Cenzon will officiate at the dedication and blessing of the window, which is a gift from the MSCs to the people and diocese of Baguio City. Dr. Michael Walsh, will be with us and as CEO will receive the Cabrini Award for Cabrini Health, Australia, in gratitude for the many years of support to SOSCFI.
Everyone is invited. If you cannot come to Baguio, we welcome your presence in spirit.
