The Save Our Street Children Foundation Inc. (SOSCFI) is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that was established by concerned citizens of Baguio, Philippines, in the mid-1980s in response to the growing population of homeless children. In 1993, the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, (MSCs), arrived in Baguio to collaborate with this NGO, giving it what it had never had before: a home, a staff and finances. For the last 12 years, the children and families have participated in various programs: tutoring, weekly cultural, recreational and spiritual events, summer camp, field trips, food distribution, prison ministry for juvenile offenders, and health clinic services. Parents have benefited from livelihood programs and a cooperative lending system. SOSCFI also offers skills training, computer literacy and tutoring, adult literacy programs, social services and counseling.
